The Story of Oliver!

Bringing Charles Dicken’s novel to life, The Albany Academy will take you on a wild adventure through Victorian England’s underworld of theft and violence as Oliver Twist searches for a home, a family but most importantly love.

When Oliver is picked up on the streets by The Artful Dodger, he is welcomed into a gang of pickpockets led by the conniving but charismatic Fagin. After being falsely accused of theft, Oliver is rescued by a kind and wealthy gentleman, to the dismay of Fagin’s violent sidekick Bill Sykes.

Caught in the middle is the warm-hearted Nancy who is trapped under Bill’s thumb, but desperate to help Oliver, with tragic results. Spirited timeless songs such as As Long As He Needs Me, Food Glorious Food and Where Is Love makes Oliver! a musical classic.

The Albany Stage School

We love watching our stage school students enjoying themselves singing, acting and dancing that it’s hard to say who enjoys these sessions more – the students or the teachers! We love to help our stage school students learn new songs, focusing on rhythm, timing and how sounds are made and formed. After a few classes we’re sure you’ll see an improvement in your child’s singing ability, as well as improved diction and increased confidence.

What our clients say

"Contains a theatre, dance studio, music rooms and a restaurant!"
After visiting the Albany tonight it is safe to say that the hard work and effort put in has truly paid off. During our visit we were given a tour of the newly renovated building which contains a theatre, dance studio, music rooms and a restaurant. Although modern and contemporary, the character of the old church building remains and features from the church have been incorporated in to the new decor. The food was delicious and staff were extremely accommodating and helpful throughout. Overall, a fantastic asset to the town and I would thoroughly recommend to all.
